It's an Adventure

The upcoming trip, beginning tomorrow, will take us first to Hong Kong for 3 days.  From there we'll fly to Perth and Margaret River for a week of wine tasting, then on to Broome where we'll meet friends Denis and Margot, Brian and Elaine, whom we first met in Turkey, and some friends and relatives of theirs.  Twelve in all.  A cruise aboard a sailing ship to the Buccaneer Archipelago, off the northwest coast, for a week promises to be an adventure in itself, but then we'll spend 4 more weeks camping in various national parks of Western Australia and Northern Territory.  Did I say CAMPING?  Yikes!  Australia has only 8 of the 12 most dangerous snakes and spiders in the world! And let's not forget crocodiles.  I think "adventure" is too mild a term.

Expectations

It suddenly hits me--we're going half a world away in two days.  We get to travel again.  After each trip, I ask myself if that was the last one we'll get to experience.  So, now it's exciting to think that we are fortunate enough to explore yet another part of this earth.
After having had our 50th anniversary, I often wonder how long we'll be able to travel, thinking that we'll have to give up hard travel and figure we'll need to stay in one city, not move around and see so much, and look for more comfort than culture.  But, this trip will not be any of that!
